We have put together a collection of fun frog games and activities for kids. These ideas are great for doing a frog theme at school or just having fun on any given day. Fun Frog Games

If you feel that we failed to communicate with you properly. Each player, in turn, wears the blindfold, spins around and then sticks the kiss on the frog. We have a great selection of fancy dress accessories. We will always help you to have a 100% positive happy buying experience.

1. Games like kiss the frog, pin the wings on the dragon, pass the poison apple or a musical princess walk, add excitement to the party and provide a time for everyone to interact. Activities: Activities nurture creativity.
2. One great game I found for my daughter's princess party was a version of 'Pin the Tail on the Donkey' but it was 'Put a Kiss on the Frog.' I attached the frog to our patio door but you could stick it on any wall. I cut out little lips and put each of the girl's names on it so we could remember where everyone's kisses went.
3. If a player gets a kiss, frog, kill, or dragon card they keep them in their hand. The game ends when one player gets to 'kiss the frog' or 'kill the dragon' on their own-OR when they team up with another player to match their cards to win together!

1. PIN THE CROWN ON THE FROG

Instructions

1. Enlarge a picture of a frog and cut out gold crowns in proportion to the frog.
2. As in pin the Tail on the Donkey, kids are blindfolded, spun around, and try to pin the crown on top of the frog’s head. Find more fun blindfold games.

2. Play PIN THE TONGUE ON THE FROG

(A version of the ‘Crown’ idea up above)

3. HOPPING CHALLENGE

This can be played in a circle, a line, or as a “Froggie Says____” game.Give children a variety of “hopping” commands such as:

• Hop in one place.
• Hop and turn in a circle at the same time.
• Hop on left/right foot.
• Hop backward, sideways; make a square or circle.
• Hop over a line.
• Hop with a partner.
• Hop quietly to line up.

4. PLAY ‘CATCH THE FLY!’

Have children get into pairs with pairs trying to “catch flies” by tossing raisins into each other’s mouths.

5. FROG STRAW RELAY GAME

Instructions

1. Cut out two frogs from tissue paper. (Good ideas to make a couple of extra frogs)
2. Form two teams and each has a straw.
3. The kids have to pick up the tissue frog while sucking in on the straw and run to the other side of the room; they run back and the next player has to do it again.
4. The first team sitting wins.

6. FROG HOP RELAY

This game is for 6 or more players and should be played in an open area.

Instructions

1. Form two even teams.
2. The first players from each team get into a frog position, squatting with their hands on the ground.
3. While making frog sounds, they “frog hop” to the end of the playing field and back.
4. When they return, the next person on each team does the same.

7. RIBBIT, RIBBIT, JUMP! (Or “Frog, Frog, Tadpole”)

Here is a different version of “Duck, Duck, Goose”…
The player is tapped on the head when the word “jump” is said.
They must hop and try to catch the other player who must also hop around and get back to the empty spot.

8. LILY PAD LEAPFROG (Version #1)

Instructions

1. Fill a child’s wading pool with water; put in lily pads made from craft foam.
2. Toss small plastic frogs in such a way that they land on the lily pads and score points.

9. FROG JUMPING GAME (Version #2)

Instructions

1. Paint the bottom of a large cardboard box (with low sides) blue. The blue is water.
2. Put some small green paper plates on the ‘water’. These are lily pads.
3. Purchase small toy frogs and have children toss the frogs onto the ‘lily-pads’.

Optional: Put numbers on the pads and add the points up as the frogs land on the pads.

10. FEED THE FROG!

Draw flies on small balloons or water balloons and toss them into a basket or bucket representing a Frog. (You could draw and attach a large frog on the container) Beanbags or black balloons could also be used as the ‘flies’.

11. FROG HUNT

This is a fun scavenger hunt idea.

Instructions

1. Print out as many frogs (in whatever version you prefer) and hide them.
2. Have the kids search for hidden frogs around the party room or outside.

12. FLOATING FROG & PRIZE

Young kids would enjoy picking out a floating frog in a wading pool, sink, or tub. Have a prize correlated to the number placed on the bottom of the frog.

13. Buy stretchy frogs, and have a FROG FLINGING CONTEST

See who can fling their frogs the furthest. (Some can be purchased online at Oriental Trading) Write numbers on ‘sticky notes’ (5-10-15, etc.) and tape them Bulls-Eye style on a wall or door. Who can get the most points?

14. HAVE A CROAKING CONTEST!

Have kids croak and make noises the frogs would make.
Award prizes for the most realistic, musical, funniest, silliest, softest sounding, loudest, croakiest, etc.

15. Play MUSICAL TOAD STOOLS

Similar to Musical Chairs-or-MUSICAL LILLY PADS

Instead of chairs, you could use green card stock and cut out lily pads about 18″ wide.

16. PLAY SLIMY (or SQUIRMY) FROG

It’s just like hot potato using a plastic, plush toy, or rubber frog; pass him quickly because frogs are squirmy!

17. Instead of Simon Says, play ‘Froggy Says’!

Idea: CAN YOU MAKE OR PURCHASE A FROG PINATA?

18. LEAPFROG GAME

Instructions

1. If you are playing in a group with more than three players, you start by lining up in a single file.
2. The first person in the line takes a few steps forwards and then bends over to make the first frog.
3. The next person in the line then leaps the first frog, carries on for a few steps, and then bends over to make the second frog.
4. The third person in the line then has to run and leapfrogs one and two and then bends over to make the third frog.
5. This carries on until all the players have jumped.
   This can be played with one line or in Teams.

If you are playing with 2 or three children to a line–introduce a MATH component to the ‘Leap Frog’ and MEASURE HOW FAR each child jumps!

19. FROG TOSS

Instructions

1. Put a blue cloth or blue roll paper on a table.
2. Place lily pads cut out from construction paper on top of the table covering.
3. Have kids toss plastic frogs from a distance trying to land them on lily pads.

20. SPLAT LIKE A FROG PAINTING

Suggestion: Do this outside

Instructions

1. Place butcher paper on the floor/cement and tape down.
2. Fill a nylon stocking with popcorn kernels.
3. Fill trays with paint.
4. Have children dip the filled stocking into the paint trays and drop the filled stocking to the ground while they hang onto the end. It will bounce up just like a frog’s tongue.

Use FROG PRINTABLES for the kids to COLOR.

21. DRAW A FROG

Instructions

1. First, make the body of the frog by either dipping a finger in green paint, pressing it to a ‘green’ stamp pad, or drawing the body shape and coloring it in.
2. Next, following the example, draw the eyes at the top of the body. (TIP – placing the eyes first – gives the ‘artist’ more perspective in where to place the arms.)
3. Finish off with bent stick legs and feet of your choice. KA decided to add small fingerprint green feet and then outlining them. (Image by KidActivities.net)

22. MAKE A FROG PLATE PUPPET

Instructions

1. Paint the bottom side of a paper plate green and the top side red.
2. When it is dry- make a mouth; fold it in half so that the red is inside.
3. Glue eyes on top and have children put two small dots on it for a nose.
4. On the inside tape or glue, a long red tongue made of construction paper.
5. Have the kids can curl the tongue around a pencil to make it curly

Frog Themed Snack Ideas

24. LIME SHERBET FROG

Ingredients:

• Lime sherbet
• Green decorators’ gel
• Junior Mints
• Green gummy ring candy

Instructions

1. To make one, set a scoop of lime sherbet on a small green paper plate (trim the plate to resemble a lily pad first, if you like).
2. Cut one green gummy ring candy into quarters and place the four pieces under the sherbet scoop for feet.
3. Set a Junior Mint candy and half a gummy ring in place for each eye. Finally, add a green decorators’ gel mouth and nostrils. Source: FamilyFun.com

25. FROG FLOATS

Instructions

1. Put one scoop of lime sherbet into a cup.
2. Add 7-Up or Sprite.
3. Add miniature marshmallows or M&M’s to the sherbet for the frog’s eyes.

26. SERVE CUPCAKES DECORATED WITH GREEN FROSTING

Instructions

1. Make a batch of FROG SUGAR COOKIES using a frog cookie cutter.
2. The children can decorate them with green frosting, candies, and sprinkles…
   OR kids could also decorate plain sugar cookies as the cupcakes above are decorated.
3. Add a variety of jellybeans and decorations to make frog faces and red shoestring licorice for the mouth/tongues.

27. JELL-O FROGS

Instructions

1. Combine 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin and 3 pkg. (3 oz. each) lime-flavored gelatin in a large bowl.
2. Add 4 cups of boiling water and stir until dissolved.
3. Pour into a 9 x 13 pan and chill until set (at least one hour).
4. Using a cookie cutter, cut frog shapes from green jello.
5. Dip small marshmallows in whipped topping to keep eyes in place on the Jell-O frog. (From Cassie/Mi.)

28. LILY POND SNACKS

Ingredients

• 1 spoonful soft cream cheese
• Blue food coloring
• 1/2 English Muffin
• 3 cucumber slices
• 1 Gummy Frog

Instructions

1. Tint the cream cheese with blue food coloring and spread on English muffin halves.
2. Peel and slice cucumbers into very thin rounds.
3. Cut a wedge from each cucumber slice and place 3 on top of the cream cheese.
4. Put the gummy frog in the “pond.” (Submitted by Cassie/Mi.)

29. OREO FROG COOKIE

Ingredients:

• 2 miniature pretzel twists
• 1 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookie
• 1/4 tsp. ready-to-spread vanilla frosting
• 2 candy-coated chocolate pieces (m&m’s)

Instructions

1. ATTACH pretzels to bottom of the cookie with some frosting for the frog’s feet.
2. PLACE the pretzel-side down, on a plate.
3. USE remaining frosting to attach candies to the top of cookie for the eyes. Let cookies stand until the frosting is firm.

Frog vs Toad: What is the difference between a frog and a toad?

Many don’t know the difference between frogs and toads. They are quite different animals, although they belong to the same animal group.

FROGS:

• Need to live near water
• Have smooth, moist skin that makes them look ‘slimy’.
• Have a narrow body
• Have higher, rounder, bulgier eyes
• Have longer hind legs
• Take long high jumps
• Have many predators

TOADS:

• Do not need to live near water to survive
• Have rough, dry, bumpy skin
• Have a wider body
• Have lower, football-shaped eyes
• Have shorter, less powerful hind legs
• Will run or take small hops rather than jump
• Do not have many predators. A toad’s skin lets out a bitter taste and smell that burns the eyes and nostrils of its predators—Much like a skunk does!
• A group of frogs is called an “army”?
• A group of toads is called a “knot”.

AND…neither frogs nor toads will give you warts! That is just a myth.

Fun Frog Facts for Kids

FROG SOUNDS… Every different species of frog makes it’s own special sound — it’s only the male frog that can croak. They have a small sac in their throats that vibrates the air as they slowly let it out.

The sounds that frogs make are not what you’d expect. Did you know that there are frogs that chirp? Others can whistle, croak, ribbit, peep, cluck, bark and grunt. (Remember this if you have the ‘Frog Croaking Contest mentioned in the above Frog Games!)

DID YOU KNOW????

• Frogs don’t drink water they absorb it through their skin.
• Frog bones form a ring when the frog is hibernating–just like trees do! Scientists can use these rings to figure out the age of a frog.

WHAT DO FROGS EAT?

• Frogs and toads are carnivores, which means that they will eat meat.
• Small to medium-sized frogs eat insects such as flies, mosquitoes, moths and dragonflies. Larger frogs will eat larger insects like grasshoppers and worms.
• Some large frogs will even eat small snakes, mice, baby turtles, and even other smaller frogs!
• Most frogs will starve before they eat a DEAD insect or animal.
• Frog’s tongues are attached to the front of their mouths rather than at the back like humans. When a frog catches an insect it throws its sticky tongue out of its mouth and wraps it around its prey. The frog’s tongue then snaps back and throws the food down its throat.

EYESIGHT…Frogs have very good eyesight. They bulge out the sides of their heads in order for the frog to see in nearly all directions.

HEARING…Frogs also have an amazing sense of hearing. You can often tell the difference between a male and female frog by the size of their eardrum, which can be seen behind their eyes. If the eardrum is smaller than the eye, the frog is a female. On males, their eardrum is the same size as the eye.

LEGS…Frogs have very powerful back legs and webbed feet that help them jump great distances, as well as, swim. Frogs even use their legs to dig or burrow, underground for hibernating. Certain frogs can jump up to 20 times their own body length in a single leap.

APPEARANCE…Every different species of frog has his or her own look. They come in many colors, patterns, and sizes.

PREDATORS…Frogs have many predators. Animal predators include birds, fish, and reptiles.

RAINFOREST…Most rainforest frogs have pads of sticky hairs on their fingers and toes, as well as, loose sticky skin on their bellies, that make them great climbers to escape their predators. Many of these frogs live in high trees for safety.

CAMOUFLAGING…Other frogs are very good at camouflaging themselves so that they blend in with their environment, making it harder for their enemies to find them. A frog can change the color of its skin depending on its surroundings.

MATING…When male frogs are ready to mate they will ‘call’ out to the female frogs. Each different species of frog has its own special sound and that is the sound that the same species of female frog will answer to. Some frogs are so loud they can be heard a mile away! After they meet, they find a suitable spot to mate and lay their eggs.

The male frog will hug the female from behind and as she lays eggs, usually in the water, the male will fertilize them. After that the eggs are on their own, to survive and become tadpoles. There are a few species of frogs that will look after their babies, but not many.

Diamond Drop

Choose two teams with an even number of kids on each team. Designate a starting line and a finish line about 10 feet away. Each group of players lines up at the starting line. The first person in each group is given two toothpicks. Each team has two bowls, one filled with ice cubes (royal diamonds) – one for each player – and another empty one that is placed at the finish line. Once you say “GO!”, each team tries to pick up the “diamonds” with the tooth picks and race to the bowl at the finish line. If a diamond falls, it has to be picked up off the floor with the toothpicks. After each player drops their diamond in the finishing bowl, they race back and tag the next player who then goes. First team to get all their diamonds in their bowl wins!

Kiss the Prince

Here’s on of the coolest and most simple kid games. The kids put on red lipstick and are blindfolded and spun around, then they try to kiss a picture of a prince (or a picture of a frog! :-). Whoever is closest to the prince’s mouth wins. If you don’t want the kids dealing with any lipstick, you can print these free printable Princess lips.

Cinderella’s Lost Slipper

When the kids arrive, have them all take off their shoes. When they are off doing another activity or eating, take their shoes and hide them in one of the rooms or outside. Put one slipper into one of the shoes and then the guests need to look for Cinderella’s lost slipper. In this case there will be only one winner. If you want everyone to win, you can put a slipper in each of their shoes and then the game ends when everyone has found a slipper.

Royal Dress Up Relay

In this relay race, kids dress up in royal attire and race to the finish line. You can even separate the two groups into Princes against Princesses. Each group will have oversized clothes that match their title. For instance, the Princesses will have a gown, high heels, necklace, wig, sunglasses, crown, etc. Determine a starting line and a turn-back line about 15 feet apart. Place each set of clothes in a separate bag or suitcase. Place the suitcases at the start lines.

Divide the players into two small groups and line them up at the start line. Blow the whistle or say go! The first players in each line open the suitcase and put on the clothes. They then shut the suit case and run to the turn-back line and then stop, take off the clothes, put them back in the suitcase and carry the suitcase back to the start line where the process starts all over again with the next person. The first team to finish wins. The more clothes you add, the funnier it gets! This can be one of the funniest kid games (especially if you can convince the boys to dress as Princesses and the girls as Princes :-)

Find the Majesty’s Treasure

Before the party hide plastic or chocolate gold-covered coins throughout the party area. Explain to all of the guests that the “Royal Treasure” has been hidden all over the land by naughty little pixies. The kid’s royal assignment is to find all of the the coins and place them back into the Majesty’s royal treasure box (this can be a gold spray-painted shoe box).

Hot Slipper

Everyone sits in a circle and passes a slipper from one person to the next (while music is playing). Someone calls time or stops the music and the person left holding the slipper is out. Continue until there is only one person left. You can also use a different twist of “Princess and the Frog Passing Game” – where all the guests pass a frog around the circle.

Royal Ball Freeze Dance

This is a fun activity and one of those really cool kid games! Call everyone into the ballroom and start playing Princess-themed music. The kids dance when they hear the music and every time the music stops, all of the kids need to freeze. Whoever doesn’t freeze is out. The last one to stick around is the winner. (Most children love this game, it lifts up their energy and sometimes it doesn’t need to be a game of taking people out, they might just love the activity of dancing and freezing).

Sifting for Gems

This is one of those kid games that has a royal history. During the late 19th century each woman guest was invited to hold a handful of sand and let it sift through her fingers to find a precious gem left in her palm that was hers to take home. You can set up a similar game by getting a shoe box filled with clean sand or white cornmeal and bury inside a few plastic rhinestones. Make sure to introduce the game by telling the kids the story about 19th century parties and have the Princesses and Princes take turns until they all have gems.

Princess Ring Relay

Divide the group into two teams. They all stand in a line one after the other (so you have two lines parallel to each other). Each team has a tray with the same amount of rings on it (you can use fake jewel or Princess rings). On the mark of “GO” the first person of each team takes a pen (this can be a decorated Princess pen), picks the ring up with the pen, runs across a designated area, places the ring in a bowl and runs back. The first person to get all of their rings into the bowl is the winning team. At the end of the game, each guest can pick a ring to take home. One of the coolest Princess party kid games!

The Princess Walk

Print out pictures of all of the Disney princesses and tape them onto poster boards (each princess on one poster board). If you have more kids you can print out other Disney characters, like Cinderella’s fairy godmother, Aladdin, and other characters from similar movies. Each guest starts out by standing on one of the pictures. Then play suitable music and the kids need to parade around in a circle. When the music stops, whoever is standing on Cinderella (or your child’s favorite Princess) wins a prize. By the end of the game, each child can win a prize (every time a child stops on the designated picture, they get a prize, just make sure everyone stops on the designated picture).

Pin the Crown

Hang a picture of your daughter’s favorite princess with a crown on her head on the wall. Then give the kids cut-outs of crowns and have them blindfolded and spun around. Whoever is closest to the crown on her head wins! (this can also be “Pin the Wand on the Princess”). If your theme focuses on Cinderella, you can also give this game a fitting twist, of Pin the Slipper on Cinderella. Another twist is “Pin the Kiss on the Frog” (from “Princess and the Frog”) – for this you’ll need a large poster of a green prince frog and cut out giant red lips, one for each guest.

Princess And The Pea Kid Games

You need toss cushions and a “pea” (a golf ball or other small ball works). Line the pillows up in a row and hide the ‘pea’ under one pillow. One at a time the princesses take turns sitting on the pillows trying to figure out which pillow the pea is under. Then it’s their turn to hide the pea. This is a great game for preschoolers or if you want a game that has no winners/losers. I found it was a great time consumer too. For older kids you can use a small marble or anything of the sort.

Don’t Eat the Poisoned Apple

You get about a dozen green apples and red (may need more or less depending on number of children). You set up a bobbing for apples game but blind folded and the red apples are poison (like in Snow White) if child gets green apple, they win a prize, if red – then they’re temporarily poisoned.
